Project Manager
Summary:
Join our team as a Senior Healthcare IT Project Manager to drive process improvements and technology integration across Manitoba’s healthcare system. This role involves managing IT projects using PRINCE2 methodology, supporting clinical information systems, and leading change management initiatives. You'll work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement healthcare solutions, upgrade public health systems, and enhance emergency response services. Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience in healthcare IT, PMP and PRINCE2 certifications, and expertise in Allscripts DB Motion. Strong leadership in organizational change management, risk management, and stakeholder engagement is essential to ensure successful healthcare transformation.
 
 
Project Description:
Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and
preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide
health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba
health organizations.
The Process Improvement Office (PIO) supports the Ministry of Health by streamlining
processes and improving efficiencies in health systems across Manitoba. The PIO works
collaboratively with the Department and Service Delivery Organizations as well as educational
institutions and clinical experts to ensure healthcare resource needs and priority initiatives are
supported.
To be successful, the PIO requires proven project and healthcare leadership with broad
jurisdictional experience across multiple areas of clinical delivery and business functions to drive
strategic and sustainable outcomes, enable the work of partner service delivery organizations,
and provide centralized project functions.

Skill and Experience
1. 5 years’ experience managing information technology projects in a healthcare environment
following the PRINCE2 delivery methodology. The response should include at least 3
examples, including the duration of the project or work that totals at least 5 years.
2. 10 years’ experience implementing or supporting healthcare information systems used in a
clinical environment. The response should include at least 3 examples including the duration
of the project or work that totals at least 10 years.
3. 3 years’ experience in a software or application development role. The response should
include at least 2 examples including duration of the project or work that totals at least 3
years. At least 1 example should include the development of integration between solutions
supporting healthcare delivery.
4. 1 year of experience implementing or upgrading large-scale provincial public health
information systems. The response should include at least 1 example including duration of
the project or work that totals at least 1 year.
5. 1 year of experience implementing or upgrading provincial client registry solutions integrated
with multiple healthcare information systems. The response should include at least 1
example including duration of the project or work that totals at least 1 year.
6. 3 years’ experience with the Allscripts DB Motion solution in a healthcare environment.
Experience should include implementing, upgrading, or supporting the solution. The
response should include at least 2 examples including duration of the project or work that
total at least 3 years.
7. 3 years’ experience implementing either process change or new services in the Emergency
Response Services healthcare space. Experience should include implementing, or
supporting projects with a variety of Emergency Response Services stakeholders. The
response should include at least 2 examples including duration of the project or work that
total at least 3 years
8. 5 years’ experience leading organizational change management activities, including impact
assessments, stakeholder analysis, change management planning and communications
planning. The response should include at least 2 examples including duration of the project
or work that totals at least 5 years.
